Gertrude E. Moore

August 18, 1916 — August 16, 2016

Gertrude E. Moore, 100, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on August 16th, 2016 at her home. She was a member the Seventh-Day Adventist faith. Oma, Gertrude Moore, was a Red Cross nurse and escaped with her children from East Germany during WWII. Gertrude and her family immigrated to the US in 1952. Oma loved horses, motor cycles, and gardening. She and her late husband ran a German pastry shop. She loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She worked hard all her life but it was her great faith in God that sustained her for 100 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Anna Kuhnert; sons, Dieter Kowarsch and Heinz Kowarsch; and daughter, Siegrid Kowarsch.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Heidi McFarland, Renate Gray, Esther Zwemer, and Willfred Kowarsch; 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be no public service at this time.
