David Travis Gates

David Travis Gates, 38 of Cleveland, TN joined the ranks of the LORD’s angels on November 13th, 2017 after a short but valiant struggle with ALS. He left this earth in a deep and peaceful sleep, surrounded by his family. Travis was born on September 8th, 1979 in Etowah, TN to Kenneth Lamar Gates and Neva Irene (Dabbs) Gates and was a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN. He graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1998.
On May 29th, 1999 Travis married Victoria Gail (Hawkins) Gates in Cleveland, TN. He was a dedicated and loving father to his three wonderful children; Ryan Gates, Summer Gates and Tristan Gates. In addition to his wife Victoria and his children he is also survived by his mother and father, Lamar and Irene Gates; his four brothers Steve Gibson, Rodger Gibson, Randy Gates, Rickie Gates and wife, Judy; mother and father-in-law Terry and James Gray, and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Kenneth Gates, Wesley and Beulah Mae (Callihan) Vaughn, Ollis and Jewell (Campbell) Dabbs.
A celebration of life funeral service is planned for 3:00pm on Thursday November 16, 2017 at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
The family will receive friends two hours prior, from 1:00pm until the 3:00pm service time on Thursday.
