David Lee Spring

David Lee Spring, 71, of Cleveland, Tennessee left this world on September 19, 2016 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. David honorably served his country in the Army while in Vietnam. David, a gentle soul, was a kind, vibrant, loving, and optimistic man. Even while facing terminal cancer he often said, “never stop dreaming.” He loved fishing, classic country music and collecting antique car memorabilia. He never met a stranger and always had a ready smile for anyone he met.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar B. Spring and Helen W. (Tootsie) Spring, special brother in law, Frank Halenar, and nephews, Alex Moore and Hunter Walker.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 45 years, Dayna Hall Spring; daughters Karen Bellamy and Kimberly Bellamy Moore and husband Mark Moore; granddaughters Ariel Bellamy and Marka Moore Ellis (Cody) and great granddaughters, Shiplee and Emma Kate. David’s pride and joy was his granddaughter, Ariel. His smile was immense every time he saw or spoke of her. David was the only boy in the middle of six sisters who all spoiled and cherished him, Carolyn Halenar, Janice Gourley (John), Faye Green, (Shelby), Helen Walker (Jack), Wilma Moore, (Bobby) and Elaine Spring; and special brother in law, Kevin Biel.
Pursuant to David’s request, the family will hold a celebration of life to honor him at the home of his daughter, Kimberly Bellamy Moore at 336 Old Eureka Road NW, Charleston, TN on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Southeast Tennessee Veteran’s Home Council @ Room 105 C/O Veteran’s Office 155 N. Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN 37311.
